Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody Services

Rabbit monoclonal antibody services antibodies offer a broad range of target recognition capabilities ideal for biomarker discovery and diagnostics. While most monoclonal antibodies are raised against mouse antigens, there is growing interest in using rabbits as host animals due to their more robust antibody repertoire and greater homology between human and rabbit immunoglobulin chains. In addition, a rabbit monoclonal antibody can be humanized much more easily than an antibody from a mouse, allowing for rapid development of highly optimized humanized mAbs.

Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody Services

The conventional process for making a monoclonal antibody involves immunization of a rabbit, plasma cell isolation, fusion of B cells and fusion partner cells, screening and selection of the best clones, and subsequent antibody purification and characterization for WB, IHC, ELISA and ICC/IF. This can be a time-consuming and expensive process taking up to 6 months from the initial rabbit immunization.

In contrast, our innovative single plasma cell interrogation (SPIN) technology can efficiently screen for rare superior clones from millions of rabbit B cell clones. This approach allows us to retrieve a higher proportion of high-affinity and superior binders that would be missed by current methods such as B-cell cloning or hybridoma.

We can use these unique SPIN technology platforms to develop rabbit monoclonal antibodies for a wide range of applications including western blot, IHC and ICC/IF, ELISA, cellular uptake assays, cell surface detection and flow cytometry. Our flexible end-to-end antibody development services allow us to deliver fully validated and optimized humanized mAbs if required.
